Prior to Medical School Dr. Bunn was a full-time English instructor and was a Meyhew Teaching Award Finalist. He continues his passion for teaching and writing with publications in the area of doctor-patient communications and medical education. His most recently published article in Academic Psychiatry discusses how to help medical students develop empathy for the mentally ill. He is also the author of “Jerk Magnet: A Guide to Demagnetize” His psychiatry training was at the University of Utah, where he received outstanding Junior and Senior Resident Awards and the Arnold P. Gold Foundation for Humanism and Excellence in Teaching. He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is an Adjunct Clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Utah, School of Medicine. Dr. Bunn takes a conservative approach to medication management and supports evidence-based use of natural supplements. Tamara has worked in all levels of psychiatric care and has experience in the assessment and treatment of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), substance use disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD), trauma and stress disorders, insomnia, and a variety of other mental health concerns. She incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other therapeutic modalities in her treatment plans.  She believes that good mental health requires a holistic approach incorporating all aspects of life, including exercise programs, mindfulness and meditation, social relationship improvement, and nutrition and sleep regimens. Tamara finds joy in helping people find the balance they seek as they work toward building a full and meaningful life. Amy is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP). She is passionate about providing quality, compassionate, and comprehensive mental health services to adolescents and adults. She maintains a comprehensive focus to care, including brief psychotherapy and prescribing mental health medications if indicated for adolescents and adults. She possesses strong clinical skills enhanced by natural ability to build rapport with patients and families.

Amy follows evidence-based guidelines blended with clinical experience, personal observation and intuition. As a PMHNP, Amy’s role is multifaceted, including educator, mental health advocate and therapist.

She is an experienced flight nurse and brings a great deal of skill, medical knowledge, and professionalism to the mental health field.

HOW DO I CHECK IN FOR A TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENT?

Use the buttons above to check-in with your selected provider. Please make sure your insurance will authorize payment for telemedicine. Not all plans will pay for this service.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

We are participating in several insurance plans, but it is up to the patient to verify coverage, make sure the visit is authorized, and understand the co-pay amount and deductible amounts. Even though we are listed as a participating provider, you need to be sure we are on the correct plan. We also can provide you with a “super bill” that you can submit to insurance if we are not in your specific network.

CAN I JUST PAY IN CASH?

Intercare tries to provide affordable care.  While some providers will charge $350 to $400 for an initial psych — we require of $50 scheduling fee that will credit to your account, and then $200 additional fee on the day of service for the initial psychiatric assessment.  $125 for 20 -30 minute follow-up appointment or for previously established patients. Payments are made through the patient portal.
